Hey all,
So, today, I decided to take out Choca's beads (She asked me YESTERDAY to change her hairstyle... LOL). I always remember WHY I don't do beads much on her when it's time to take them out... IT IS SOOOOOOOO TIME CONSUMING!!! And, for a two year old... It takes even longer... With the whining and crying from boredom... WHEW!! However, we got it in anyway!!!
To remove the braids/beads, I used:
Water
Proclaim Tea Tree Leave In Conditioner
Using these products made it a LOT easier to remove the braids and the beads. They made her hair really soft and loosened up the braid with made it very easy to get through it. I then did a bit of hair play, and got it ready for the twists...
Top row of braids/beads out... She's rockin' rough and stuff w/this 1/3 afro!! HA!! Rock on, Choca! |
Hair sectioned off for the twists... She actually thought her hair was done in this picture... OOPS! |
To do the twists, I used:
Water
Proclaim Tea Tree Leave In Conditioner
Proclaim Emerald Bergamont Hair & Scalp Conditioner
Eco Styler Gel
I mixed the Proclaim Emerald Bergamont & Tea Tree Leave In together in a container before I put it on her hair, so that it would shorten the process! :)
Now, everyone KNOWS I love her in twists!! It's my FAVORITE hairstyle for her... But, this time, I wanted to do something a little different.
I have a friend on FB named T'Masha who has a beautiful baby girl. Her little girl wears twists as well, and she showed me a style she gave her that had her hair flat twisted or braided back on one side. I thought it was TOO cute, so I decided to try it on Choca.
You know what?? It's gorgeous!! I put SIX flat twists on the left side of her head, and she's gorgeous!!!
Choca's outfit: A Vintage dress that I spent less than $3.00 for (I can't remember the exact price...) SO cute, right?!?!?
Pictures:
See those flat twists??? LOVE! |
She's happy!!!!! |
Isn't that the CUTEST dress?!?!?! |
Mommy's happy little Choca! |
I made her laugh and snapped the shot! |

It's amazing how the natural hair genre has really taken shape. We have moved from the common afros and locs to sophisticaed, stylish, professional, fun and whacky styles. I love flat twists, I just can't do them. LOL
Nicole * Indeed. Folks aren't afraid to have hairplay and be natural as well. That's a beautiful thing to witness! Thank you!!! I love doing flat twists... Wish I could do them on myself!! LOL
