January Hair Carnival: CURLFORMERS!!!

Hey all!!

Some AWESOME bloggers and I decided to get together and be a part of the WONDERFUL January Hair Carnival... all about Curlformers!!!

So, I won some Curlformers in a couple of giveaways last month, and decided to try them on BB & CC.

On BB I used:

The Long & Narrow Curlformers
Wisely Made Hair Pomade
Water

I sprayed her hair down with water first, and then I put the Wisely Made Hair Pomade on each section.  I then twisted each section and put the curlers on.

On CC I used:

The Long & Wide Curlformers
Blended Beauty Happy Nappy Styles
Water

I sprayed her hair down with water, then I put on the Blended Beauty Happy Nappy Styles on each section, twisted a few of her twists together, and put the curlers on...

They were truly excited to see how it would turn out... And slightly worried on how they would sleep.... LOL

So... The next morning, the girls said that sleeping was not bad at all!! I got to taking the curlers out... and I must say... I'm STOKED at the results!! I am TRULY a Curlformers fan!!! Nothing like getting a beautiful curled style with NO heat!!!

Aren't the curls amazing??? I then decided to do a mini photo shoot with my gorgeous little curled haired beauties:

How GORGEOUS are they!?!?!? Love it, love it, and love it some more!! <3

It only took about 25-30 minutes to put the curlers in too!! No time for such amazing styles!!

Join the team on their first adventure as they fight against the enemy of GOD defending GOD’S greatest creation... mankind. Watch how the enemy, his minions and the earthly traders attempt to hand over this planet and all of its inhabitants to the hater of our souls. Trying to deceive the gullible by pointing humanity away from the true and living God to the side of “the prince of the power of the air.” Set in the second decade of the 21st century, this epic adventures’ time has come...

Welcome to 21st century earth; Where mankind has forged its greatest desires into a way of life. The governments of the world have come together to usher in what is being hailed as a true utopia… the first civilization in history where peace has reigned in every nation, providence, and region at the same time. Business, Technology, Science, Agriculture, Medicine, Religion… every aspect that makes life worth living has been upgraded beyond man’s wildest imagination. Mankind looks out on what it has created and the sense of accomplishment is overwhelming… the culture smiles… pauses… and then gives itself a collective pat on the back… saying well done. The most advanced era on the planet, put together without any thought, recognition, or acknowledgement of CREATOR GOD- ELOHIM !!

With all of the advancements of knowledge in this age, one thing has been overlooked by the citizenry… EVERYTHING BUILT WITHOUT GOD BEING INVOLVED IS SURE TO CRUMBLE… and most of the time it crumbles from the inside out.

This society was designed, developed, and put into play by one man… one special man who understood that every great civilization has one thing in common… a charismatic leader… someone who has the vision to lead. But something is changing… an underlying vibe is circulating in the underbelly of this euphoric society… on the fringes things are happening…
Who would know better about what’s taking place than the architect of this society… that one with the vision, and believe me, mankind is not ready for what is to come…

Doesn't it sound EXCITING?!?!?!? Please go to the WEBSITE and order your copy today.

If you're into comic books like we are here on The Avenue, AND you like Christian based writings, this is the book for you!!!

For the next month, I will have a "THE LAST DISCIPLES" button to the right of my blog... Please spread the word about this book!! :)

Friday Flair: -- Choca: Retwisted!! :)

Hey all!!

So, Choca has been rocking the same twists for about a month now... AND... They still looked nice and right:

But, I wanted to change it up a bit... They had NOT loc'd up on me (yaaay)!! I did want her to have some thicker ones though... Just for a change... I LOVE LOVE LOVE Choca in twists of all types, so to go back thicker was exciting to me!!! (Didn't take long to do either).

I used:

Proclaim Tea Tree Leave In Conditioner
African Pride Dream Kids Olive Miracle Detangling Moisturizing Conditioner
my 'special' lanolin mixture (for the cold weather... her scalp tends to dry out)
Little Penguins Organic Mango Illipe Pom
Little Penguins Fresh Cream

So, I did her hair in sections.  Since I was going to do them bigger, I grabbed sections of the smaller twists and re-did them in that fashion.

With each section, I:
- sprayed it down with the Proclaim Tea Tree Leave In Conditioner
- put about a nickle sized amount of the Dream Kids on her hair and massaged it in.
- undid the smaller twists
- put on my special lanolin mixture (about a pea sized amount on each 'new twist' section)
- put on the Little Penguins Organic Mango Illipe Pom (about a 1/2 pea sized amount on each 'new twist' section)

After all of her thicker twists were in, I used the Little Penguins Fresh Cream to coat her hair.

The Results:

Random Length Check!!! Look at that!!! WOOT WOOT!
I then styled it a bit, because her hair constantly gets in her eyes now. With the products I used to achieve this style, there is a LOT of shrinkage, but it STILL falls in her eyes. So, I pulled it back with some clips:

How cute are these thick twists!?!?!? I'm loving them, and so is SHE!! Sooooooo... It's a win/win!!

The entire style took about 1 1/2 hours to do!

Quick Styles With BB: Banana Clip Play...(Braided Pompadour)

Hey all!!

So, I'm soooo into this banana clip thing right now...

I decided to try the same style... with a twist.   I used the same products:

Water
Blended Beauty Natural Hair Oil
Blended Beauty Happy Nappy Styles

Again, no combing... all finger detangling!! I did use a comb to part off the pompadour section.

I did an 'inside out' cornrow on the pompadour... meaning I braided it by going UNDER, instead of OVER... I then put everything inside of the banana clip, and DONE!!

How cute is this?!!? This style took about 10 minutes to complete, and it looks amazing on her!!!

Of course, she loves it!! So... That's a win/win!! :)

Quick Styles With BB!! (Fat, Messy Fishtailed braid)

Hey all!!

So, BB came to me and wanted me to do SOMETHING with her hair... She's been putting it up in a ponytail for the past few days, and it was looking rough.  She asked me to do a fishtailed braid. Now, I haven't done one of those since high school (mind you, I have a CHILD in high school now... LOL)

I told her that we didn't have much time (only like 10 minutes until it was time to go), but that I'd give her a quick, FAT, MESSY FISHTAILED BRAID for her to have her hair up...

She was okay with it...

It took about 5 minutes to do... I was pleased with the results.

VERY CUTE, right!??!?! I will be doing it with more precision this weekend, but I'm so happy with the way this one came out! :)
