Product Review: Sidewinders

Hey all!!

IT'S REVIEW TIME!!!
*~*SIDEWINDER HAIR HOLDERS*~*

FACEBOOK | WEBSITE
So, I was given the COMPLETE and UTTER pleasure to review these GORGEOUS hair goodies by Ms. Susan over at Sidewinder Hair Holders!!! As you all know, I 'm a huge fan of what I like to call "HAIR JEWELRY". Well, when I ran across these on the net, I was impressed with the look of them... I loved how they were much different than barrettes and beads, and didn't press down on the hair.  Instead, they wrap around the hair and give it a 360 beauty...

I used them on Choca in a few hairstyles, and I must say... They were SOOOOO easy to put on, and so easy to remove!!!

Here is an amazing video from Sidewinder Hair Holders that shows how easy it is to apply these amazing hair holders:

Pictures:

First, I put her twists up on one side with a clip, and decorated her hair with the Sidewinder Hair Holders:

Colors used:
Ruby Red
Baby Blue
Sapphire Blue
Hot Tamale Red

Sizes Used:
Three Inches
Two Inches

I then let her hair down, and let it flow with the Sidewinder Hair Holders:

We then had a wedding to attend, so I gave her a cute updo in the front, with the Sidewinder Hair Holders decorating her face:

Colors used:
Sapphire Blue
Baby Blue
Hot Tamale Red
Ruby Red

Sizes Used:
Three Inches
Two Inches

Another Style: I used Sidewinder Hair Holders for a little spice to her style:

Colors used:
Baby Blue
Sapphire Blue

Sizes Used:
One Inch

I used a bobby pin to pin back the Sidewinder Hair Holders into a cute little style:

And finally, her entire outfit with her Sidewinder Hair Holders
(Yep... always gotta have a Flair Shot!!)

How gorgeous is CHOCA in these beautiful Sidewinder Hair Holders?? She really loves them!! Loves the way the look, and LOVES how easy they are to put on and take off... That's a win/win for me!!

On a scale of One to Five Choca's... Five being the best, I give this product:

FIVE CHOCA'S!!!
This product is amazing!!

I hope you all liked this review!!! This is truly a great product, folks!! Make sure you check them out on FACEBOOK and go on over to their WEBSITE to check out all the great colors they have!!! :)

Product Review: Curls of the World

Hey all!!

IT'S REVIEW TIME!!!
*~*CURLS OF THE WORLD*~*

WEBSITE | FACEBOOK
I was given the opportunity to try out these natural products by the owner of Curls of the World, Ms. Rhian... and I was honored to do the review. Since Choca has eczema, this product was one that I was really excited to try!!

I tried them on Miss Choca:

Her hair before the products!
I started with the “Curlie Worlie Kids” Shampoo. The shampoo has no smell at all, which was nice.  It's a VERY silky smooth texture and went on her hair VERY nice.  (Sorry, no pictures of that... She screamed and hollered... She's not a hair washing person!! LOL).  After the shampooing process, her hair was VERY clean.  Her hair wasn't hard, and it didn't feel stripped of it's natural nutrients and oils.

I then used the "Curlie Worlie Kids" Conditioner.  The conditioner had no smell either, but it was VERY SMOOTH as well and went on her hair wonderfully.  I let it sit on her hair for about 15 minutes, and then rinsed it out.  After the use of the conditioner, her hair was already bouncy and fluffy and extra moisturized, which I LOVED!!

Next, we used the AMAZING Tahitian Bay Detangling Conditioner!  I sprayed it on her hair and massaged it in really well.  I was able to finger comb her hair out after that.  You all know I wash/conditioner Choca's hair in her twists... So, after taking the twists out above, it was so very easy to finger comb out the tangles and get her hair ready for the new twists.

Finally, I used the "Curly Worlie Kids" Fragrance Free Hair Cream.  This hair cream was a really nice consistency, but not as thick as I was used to using.  I had to use a good amount on Choca's twists because of her hair texture, and I wanted them to hang a certain way... I did use basically the whole container of this amazing hair cream in the first sitting as well.  Choca's hair eats up A LOT of product! :)

Because of the amount I needed to use in order for it to really get in there, her hair did have a white film on it for about 10 minutes... But, it eventually soaked right on in...

I then styled her twists with a beautiful flower that Ms. Rhian sent me... I added a few touches to it, of course... My signature feathers and a nice stone to top it all off.

Pictures:

With the film (from picture one to picture two, you will see a HUGE amount of the film has already soaked into her hair):

After the film dissipated:

Gorgeous, RIGHT?!?!?!

And, in perfect Choca form, she had a mini fashion show... IN HER PJ's!!

How awesome is Curls of the World on Choca's hair??? Her twists looked amazing... AND, they stayed that way for about 2 weeks!!! All I did was spray water and the Tahitian Bay Detangling Conditioner in her hair daily and VOILA... Goodness!! :)

Sooooooo... On a scale of one to five Choca's, I give this product:

FOUR CHOCA'S
This product does NOT have any overpowering smells.  It's smooth going on, and doesn't strip the hair of it's natural oils.

I wish that the hair cream was just a LITTLE thicker for Choca's hair... However, Choca's hair was BANGING after this application!

I hope you all enjoyed this review.  This is DEFINITELY a great product for children of all hair textures!! :)

Please check out Curls of the World on FACEBOOK, and let them know I sent you... And don't forget to check out their WEBSITE!

Observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hey all,

So... Today I wanted to do something for the GREAT Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

"A nation or civilization that continues to produce soft-minded men purchases its own spiritual death on the installment plan."

"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."

"An individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for the law."

"Discrimination is a hellhound that gnaws at Negroes in every waking moment of their lives to remind them that the lie of their inferiority is accepted as truth in the society dominating them."

"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."

Glory to GOD for this man... standing up against the negative and the racism and the foolery to bring Black people up out of bondage and despair!! I'm truly thankful for him and all that he did for us...

Thank you, Dr. King!! You are truly missed and I'm forever grateful for the part you have played in history for me and my family!!

I was given the opportunity to try these products by the owner, Ms. Fabiola (WHO IS FABULOUS!!!)!  The items came in a cute little package:

Everything was wrapped really nice.  I decided to use BB as the hair model for this product. Being that it's wintertime, I was curious to see how this product would fair in the cold weather...

Now, on to the review:

BB's hair before any product was put on:

The shampoo has a VERY strong smell.  It took me a little time to get used to, because I am not used to shampoo that is so strong... However, the smell wasn't unpleasant.  The shampoo is very silky to the touch.  BB washed her hair (it lathered up wonderfully).

She loved the way it cleansed her hair without stripping it of all its natural oils (That TRULY makes a difference, folks)!!

The conditioner has a very pungent smell as well. It has a very silky/creamy texture and coated BB's hair very well.

Now, after she rinsed this out... I must say... Her hair was AMAZING.  It was soooooooooo easy to finger comb through her hair.  You all know I'm not huge on using combs on our hair... and this product worked VERY well for what I like to do!

The lemongrass and the tea tree oil in this product gives it a very special smell.  It's a great mixture.  BB decided to rub the pomade on her palms and massage it through her hair. She then gave her hair a quick style so she could go out and about:

This product gave her hair a very high sheen, and kept it manageable as well.

Another style we did with the hair pomade during this three week time span was a style with Curlformers.  We used the hair pomade as the 'grease' of sorts before putting the Curlformers on:

We then decided to RESURRECT her hair...

This product has a purple color to it (LOL... It got all over BB's white tank top...)... It has a strong smell as well, but not overpowering.

We used a blow dryer to heat this up for about 15 minutes (per the directions), and it did indeed revive her hair...

Video of the last day of use:

So, from one to five Choca's, with five being the best, I give this product:

FOUR CHOCA'S
Pros: The product does what it says it is going to do.  It is GREAT on your hair and after three weeks of use, BB's hair is in AMAZING condition.

Cons: The smell may be too strong for some...

I hope you all enjoyed this review.  Don't forget to check out Wisely Made on FACEBOOK and on their WEBSITE.  They truly have great products, and if you're looking for a product that is true to their word, this is definitely that product!
