Kinky Twist Extensions!!!

Hey all,

So, today I had a client come over to get her hair protective styled with Kinky Twist Extensions.  She is transitioning to natural (not interested in doing a BC), and she loves to wear Kinky Twist Extensions as a protective style.  She's been in them for about a year now.

When she came, she had her own hair in twists...so, I took those down:

I then sprayed it with water to see where the relaxed hair ends and the natural hair begins:

I then did a length check...
Where the natural hair ended:

And another one where the relaxed hair ended:

Her natural texture on the side:

I then started adding the extensions!!

What I used:

Vienna Hair Collection B. Marley Pony 19" (Four bags: (2) #4 and (2) #T1B/30)
Prostyle Gel
Water

I mixed the hair colors up to make it POP more!! :)

She will keep this style for about 5 months, with me redoing the front and the ones that slip ever so often.  Isn't it a nice style!?!?!? One of my favorite protective styles with extensions! :)

To keep this style up, she will make sure to spray her conditioner/oil mix on her scalp everyday to keep it moist and she will make SURE to cover it up every night to keep the twists from frizzing up, putting a little gel on them to keep them fresh looking! :)

I hope you all enjoyed this blog... I enjoyed doing it for you (AND showing you the awesome twists that I did on her!!)

Dreamer13 * Thank you!! Isn't her hair growing well?!?! I've been doing her hair extensions on and off for about 6 years now... Once I went natural, she kinda fell in line as well (YAAAY), so we are trying to grow it out so that she will be where she was lengthwise when she was all relaxed up! :) -- She's getting there. And yep.. about 5 months. I will go through and do what I like to call 'repair work' throughout those months... But, leaving it alone helps it to grow! :)

Gorgeous--your client and her hair! You are the Queen of Twists! There really wasn't much relaxed hair left at all and her natural hair is beautiful. The reddish hair, is that the #T1B/30? I have no idea about colors of add-in hair and I'm thinking about using just a little, not for length, in Baby O's hair--to plump up her twists a bit.

Nikki HairThoughts * Thank you!! :) Hehe!!Yes, she's almost ALL natural!! :) <3 -- And yep... If you want to use some of this hair for O, you'll need to get the 30 only... the 1B is black hair, so a blanket color 30 would work for what you're trying to do! :)

Thank you, Char! It's much easier going into the BSS with a little knowledge of what you're after lol

Great work Charlotte, we wanted to know if you have tried the Take Down Remover cream to remove and detangle braids, twists, sew-in weaves, bonding glue or dreadlocks? So many hairdressers are causing hair damage and loss when removing these styles.

If you do any tutorials on removal let us know how we can support you to save hair.

Tangled Hair Techs * Thanks for commenting. No, I've never even heard of your product... And I've never had issues removing extensions, or detangling hair. Now, if you'd like to send me a sample of your product, I'd love to try it out and review it for you!! Send me an email @ CharlottesAvenue@gmail.com, and we can network!

Take care,

Char~

Hey Char! I hope you see this comment. I'm interesting in replicating this look on my own hair. How many packs of hair did you use on your friends head? -Moraa

Beautifully Human * I used 4 packs of hair on her head... :O)

Hello Char, my daughter wants this look in her hair. We are trying to start her hair to grow. So I was told this is a good way for hair to strengthen and lengthen. She has a very sensitive scalp. At times she has scalp eczema . So she has to use 100% human hair Afro bulky. My question is what kind of hair did you use and what's the length in inches?

Thank you,
Nicky( concerned parent)

Nicky Bonds * WOW!! I can't believe I am just seeing this post come through. :( -- We are an eczema ridden family as well.. However, the hair we used was Vienna hair from Sally's. As far as the length, I cut the hair in half that came in the pack, staggered it, and made it the length I wanted it to be. It helped to keep it thinner on her hair (not so thick per twist) and to me it looks better.

Booo blogger for taking its time on this one...
